Borderlands 4 Players Can Get Free Skin With This Shift Code
After smashing the latest community weekend challenge, Gearbox Software is making Amon’s Cult Classic skin available to all Borderlands 4 players through a new code. Gearbox’s SHiFT program has been a key element for the studio, originally launching back in 2016 with the ill-fated Battleborn, though it has continued to unlock all sorts of DLC content for players all the way through to Borderlands 4.
To this point, Gearbox has continued its tradition of offering Golden Keys to Borderlands 4 players through codes via social media. The SHiFT codes can be redeemed through the official site, where players can then boot up the game to find their goodies, such as the previously mentioned Golden Keys. These can be redeemed at major faction towns like The Launchpad, Belton’s Bore, Carcadia, or The Lockaway at a special Golden Skull chest. However, Borderlands 4 has also been uysing SHiFT keys to hand out more than just keys.

This past weekend, Gearbox again challenged players to cause a bit of chaos and mayhem within Borderlands 4. This time around, Gearbox wanted players to collectively get 300,000 kills against the Vault Bosses in Borderlands 4, which would unlock a special SHiFT code for the Forgeknight known as Amon. As it turns out, the community smashed the challenge fairly easily, earning 839,225 kills and now getting access to a new Amon skin based off his origin story short called Demons.
The latest cosmetic giveaway followed suit with the previous weekend’s Rafa challenge in Borderlands 4, which originally tasked players with earning 20 million second winds to unlock the Savings Savior skin from his YOLT short. Players again didn’t disappoint, earning 23.4 million second winds, easily eclipsing the required number set by Gearbox. It stands to reason that Vex and Harlowe will be featured in the near future, giving players a chance to earn new cosmetics based off of their origin shorts as well.
In the meantime, Borderlands 4 received its first major balance patch, which chose to instead provide buffs to underwhelming or underperforming builds, while leaving the already powerful skills alone. While all four characters saw various buffs to some degree, Amon was on the receiving end of many of them, as Gearbox attempted to power up his action skills. The update also addressed some ongoing performance-related issues for PC players, with a few weekly activity adjustments as well.
