The 27-year-old jetted off to the European sun once the Premier League season finished and reports up to now have primarily focused on his private life – he has been spotted with Swedish padel player Jaki Palm. But while the downtime and recovery from a challenging season is important, Rashford is seemingly also keen not to be caught out with his fitness once he knows where he will be playing football come August.

Rashford didn't add much to his post as a caption, just "Everyday hussle [sic]", with a recharged battery emoji. The real spelling is hustle, though.

WHAT NEXT?

Aston Villa's January loan included a £40 million ($54m) option to buy, which hasn't yet been triggered. It also doesn't give Villa first option on Rashford, meaning somebody could beat them to it. The player's preference is widely reported to be Barcelona, although the Catalan giants appear to be putting more into pursuing Liverpool's Luis Diaz and view Rashford as a cheaper alternative.
