Fortnite's Daft Punk Crossover May Include a Surprise Guest
Fortnite‘s brand-new Daft Punk crossover coming to the game in the near future may include a surprise guest as part of the event, potentially featuring the Weekend. The beloved battle royale has seen plenty of exciting collaborations with major games and brands throughout the ongoing Chapter 6 Season 4, with plenty to entice fans into its newest cosmetics. Power Rangers has been one of the highlight crossovers of Fortnite‘s current season, with fans even able to pilot the Megazord in the battle royale. Now, a heavily-rumored crossover may feature some extra special content.
Among Fortnite‘s litany of crossovers, recent rumors of a Daft Punk crossover have particularly excited fans with the potential new content. The Daft Punk crossover will reportedly focus heavily around Fortnite Festival, with some of the group’s most popular songs like “Get Lucky” and “One More Time” included. The crossover could potentially include skins based on the beloved French music group, though Daft Punk skins were not confirmed as part of the rumor. A new trailer is now suggesting another musical act may be involved with the event.
Prominent Fortnite community member HYPEX pointed out the potential involvement of the Weeknd with the new event’s teaser trailer. The short video for the event shows Fortnite‘s Drift finding something hidden beneath the snow, while accompanied by the Weeknd in his “Combat” skin within the teaser. The teaser trailer was also reposted by The Weeknd, indirectly confirming the musician’s further involvement with the upcoming crossover. Fortnite has not officially revealed the upcoming Daft Punk collaboration, though a full announcement is expected to be coming within the next few days.
The Weeknd Involved in Fortnite's Daft Punk Crossover
The Weeknd’s involvement with the Daft Punk crossover would not be the first time the Canadian musician has appeared in the battle royale. The Weeknd previously appeared as part of the game’s “Icon Series” line of skins during Chapter 5 Season 1, alongside two additional outfits and several other cosmetics. The Weeknd also boasts several popular songs as part of Fortnite Festival‘s lineup of Jam Tracks, with fan-favorites like “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears” available for fans to play in the rhythm game.
Daft Punk and The Weeknd teaming up for a new Fortnite crossover would not be the first major musicians featured in Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 Season 4. Fortnite officially introduced The Gorillaz late last month, with new skins added to the game based on each member of the group. The crossover also saw another of the group’s most popular songs added to Fortnite Festival, with “Clint Eastwood” joining the lineup of Jam Tracks alongside the previously-added “Feel Good Inc.” Fortnite‘s newest crossover will bring one of the most iconic musical acts of the 2000s and 2010s to the battle royale.
